OUR STORY
Founded in 2015, the Adventures in Diving STX was the idea of two friends and their passion for diving. We settled in Frederiksted, USVI because we enjoyed its history, relaxing lifestyle, and calm, clear waters. We want you and your friends to discover the beauty of diving in St. Croix's warm, clear blue waters. The diverse marine life gives you the opportunity enjoy the magnificent mysteries of the Caribbean sea.
MITCHELL NESTOR
Mitchell Nestor, Co-Owner, NAUI, SSI, and SDI SCUBA Instructor, CPR/Basic First Aid Instructor
Prior to opening their shop on St. Croix, Mitch worked for one of the largest dive retailers in the state of Florida. Mitch also is a Instructor trainer for CPR, First Aid & 02 Administration. Mitch's current passion is teaching the Basic SCUBA course and watching students' comfort level increase as they experience the underwater world. Mitch's goal is to help you create unforgettable memories in the warm, clear, calm waters of St. Croix!
ANDREA HEMPHILL
Andrea Hemphill, Co-Owner, SSI Instructor, Retail Manager
Andrea brings 16 yrs of classroom teaching experience and an adventurous spirit to Adventures In Diving STX. Her eye for details and passion for scuba diving allows her to work on macro-photography skills in the beautiful waters of St. Croix. As a consummate learner, she is currently learning about the Olympus TG6 camera and how to create beautiful photos of the underwater world.
Andrea also enjoys contributing to the surrounding community by organizing events for divers.
VICKI MILLER
SSI INTRUCTOR TRAINER
I’ve been scuba diving since 2007. I truly fell in love with the ocean and the vast variety of aquatic life is so very engrossing. There is so much to learn and know. I am recently retired from law enforcement although I still volunteer. I have experience with public safety diving (7 years) and I teach most courses from recreational to professional levels. I met my husband scuba diving and he is certified as a Divemaster. We are always diving. Our son also enjoys diving.
Recommendations to all divers: Keep learning and dive.. There is always more to learn.
JEFF DYKSTRA
SCUBA Instructor
Jeff Dykstra is an SSI Assistant Instructor Trainer with over 3000 dives spanning a 30-year career in scuba diving. He holds a BS in Oceanography from the Univerisity of West Florida, is a licensed boat captain, an avid sailor, and a coxswain in the USCG Reserve. He is the founder of Triton's Realm and promotes scuba diving through underwater video, custom dive apparel, and technology such as photogrammetry.
